ABOUT KAROL
Born in Denver, Colorado, Karol Sample moved with her family to Washington State when she was still a child and was brought up in the Yakima Valley. It was upon this backdrop that Karol first stretched her canvas of becoming a professional artist. Upon completing her B.A in 1993, and M.A. in 1995 at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA, Karol relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico for several years. Working as a jeweler and metal-smith, the inspiration of Southwest culture made its unique mark on her paintings, and she returned to Seattle, Washington in 2002. The Emerald City also greatly influenced Karol's artwork, and she has enjoyed frequent exposure to art-loving crowds at monthly "1st Thursday" art walks in Pioneer Square, where she opened her studio until 2008. The artist now resides and has her painting studio in West Seattle, WA.
Karol's many interests include swimming, jumping in the ocean, nature walks, hiking, riding her bike, wildlife-watching, multi-cultural exploration and connection, and exploring the Puget Sound area. These and many other aspects of her lifestyle directly inspire and nourish her artwork, which in turn, creates an uplifting passion for all of life.
Many of Karol's works are owned by private collectors.
